lessons

safety. fun. experience.

We are primarily a Western based lesson program for ages 7 to adult. With safety and a well-balanced seat being our top goals, we strive to make sure each student is taught to their abilities.

Hour-long lessons include ground instruction and all lessons start with grooming and tacking up. On rainy days, we take our ground work to the next level of horsemanship and work on skills like wrapping legs, hoof care and tack maintenance.

All new students are required to do a trial lesson before being signed up for monthly lessons. A trial lesson allows us to see where the rider is at skill-wise and, more importantly, comfort-wise. A trial lesson also allows you to assess us to see if we are what you're looking for in a riding program.

If students are interested in trying out an English saddle, we are happy to oblige. Contact amy holman for English lessons.

We do not teach any high impact lessons, i.e. jumping, barrels, reining etc.

Helmets and closed-toed shoes are required for all riders.  We have a large selection of helmet sizes for our riders.

shows

While we are a non- competitive barn, we do have occasional "fun shows" that allow our students to show off their skills. They are also great fundraisers for our beloved barn.
